Hi Rich Fans,
I'm writing in reference to the world premier of the "Canticle Of The Plains" (see [RichMailList 102]: Canticle worldwide premier).
First of all, to those of you who caught the premier on the Web, I appreciate your patience (of course, I'm making a big assumption there) in dealing with the difficulties of making the initial connection to the RealAudio server. Of all days, a normally smooth and reliable setup decided to have some problems. However, thanks to the awesome tech staff at SouthWind Internet Access (mine as well as Light 99's ISP), they got it fixed. Bob Michaels stalled as much as he could, so you wouldn't miss very much. The access was restored by around 2:30pm, and (as some of you informed me) you should have been able to pick it up shortly after the first song.
For those of you who missed it or couldn't get connected for one reason or another, I've obtained permission from Light 99 to transcribe the interview. That way, once you buy a copy of the musical (which by the way, will be available some time this summer, or possibly spring) you'll be able read Rich and Mitch's comments while listening.
To those that have asked about recordings from the local Wichita radio or from RealAudio World Wide Web feeds, let me gently remind you that this premier was a copyrighted presentation of Light 99 and Crucible Productions, and it is unlawful to make those recordings for any purpose. 'Nuff said?
Keep a look out for a complete review with pictures from the concert Friday night here in Wichita. It was awesome as expected. Also I wanted to mention those of you on the list in attendance (especially those I didn't get to visit with Friday night), please email me with your thoughts and comments so I can include then in the review.
It will probably take a couple days for the review of the concert, and a week or so for the "Canticle Of The Plains" transcription.
