Hi Rich Fans,

Here's what I've received so far concerning the song "O Come All Ye Faithful" discussed in the previous post.

Hey Danl,

I've been meaning to contribute this to the "Songs-that-Rich-wrote-that-
other-people-recorded" thread, but I was hoping I could find my old
Debby Boone cassette first so I'd have accurate info. Knowing me, I don't
think that's gonna happen any time soon. But yes, Rich did write this song,
and Debby Boone recorded it. I'm not positive what album it was on...I
*think* it's on _Surrender_ though (came out sometime in the mid 80's
I believe).

Incidentally, I never knew that Rich had written this song until about a
year ago when I saw an old rerun of a made for TV movie that Debby was in,
and her character sang the song in the movie. The closing credits said it
was written by Richard Mullins. Anyway....it's a good song. I'll send you
the lyrics if I ever find them.

Margaret

I think I've heard it on the radio, too, so it must exist somewhere! Actually, I just remembered....the version I'd heard on the radio was done by the Continentals, and it's at least 12-13 years old. gina@imagebuilder.com

It was on a Christmas album, and she really screwed it up. I think the name was Come all Ye faithful. It was a great song. But something in it died when Debbie Boone did it, I think it was way overproduced.

From: Kathie Scott Subject: "O Come ALl Ye Faithful" Date: Fri, 16 Aug 1996 19:16:04 (CDT) I've heard the song. Debby Boone sings it in a really bad movie about a group of former call girls who keep getting killed because one of them doesn't want her past revealed. Debby Boone's character is currently a big-time evangelist's musical associate, and the character is suspected until she reveals that she had already told the evangelist about her past. I think Kate Jackson is in it as well. Several other TV stars or supporting character types from film. I remember watching the movie late one night when I couldn't sleep ( a couple of years ago) and being very moved by the song...so I watched it until the end to see who wrote the song. I just laughed when I saw it was Rich Mullins....it figures. If I remember correctly, the first 2 lines are: Oh come all ye faithful Ye pilgrims come sing (Maybe everyone who's heard it can add a line until it's complete!) I've always wondered if Debby Boone ever released it other than in the film. Does anyone know where I could find it? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kathie Scott csmks@eiu.edu Charleston, IL ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
