Subject: [RichMailList 66]: Beaker, survey response, mailing errors, etc.

Hi Rich fans,

I've got a couple items of information to cover...

First a question...

James C. Baker writes for his friend Lisa:

>
>Lisa was also wondering where Beaker got his nickname.. any response?

Rich met Beaker (whose real name is David Strasser) back in his college days. David was only in 7th grade at the time. I'm told that David gets his nickname from the old Muppet TV show. Remember the scientist character whose name was Beaker? Apparently he reminded his friends of Beaker, and ended up with the nickname, which has stayed with him since.

Re: [RichMailList 64]: Results: Rich Top 20 Survey

A few have replied with concerns about the order of songs, i.e., some songs getting higher "rating" than others. At this point I should clarify two things. First, we have to remember that this survey was hardly scientific because of the relatively low number of responses. Secondly, the main purpose of the survey was not to rate Rich's songs, but to see if we could pick which songs would make it on the greatist hits. As few of you actually rated the songs 1 thru 20, I probably should have reported the findings by giving just 20 songs, not rated in any order. The survey was intended to be a fun exercise, and not a competition. Anyway, I hope that clears things up.

Also there was more than one suggestion that "Step By Step" be included with "Sometimes By Step". I would do that, except that Rich specifically gave them to us as two separate songs (actually three if you include the reprise), so I feel that it's not for me to combine them here. Next time we do the survey, you'll have to just vote for both.

Lastly a bit of housekeeping...

I've been getting a few posts bounce back to me with various errors (timeouts, mailbox full, unknown user, etc.). In the past, I tried to track you down to make sure you got the post, but I will be unable to do that in the future.

Therefore if you have closed your account (because school's out, or whatever), or if you haven't checked your mail in a while and get a full mailbox (which then refuses anymore mail), I will have no other option, but to delete your address from the list. Please let me know if your address changes, especially if you want to continue to receiving posts. Thanks to those of you have notified me in the past about address changes.

Anyway enough boring non-related Rich stuff. Just wanted to ask for your help in this matter.

Anyone make it to Bellingham? How about a review? So far I've only received one comment. I'll collect them and report back.

God Bless, and have a safe and joyful Memorial Weekend as we remember those who have gone before us.
