*** Kevin Daniel's McKinney review ***

Subject: Concert Review - McKinney, TX
Dear Danl,
First, I would like to thank you for all of the work you put into keeping
up this great mailing list, and keeping us all informed of everything. I
really appreciate it. Second...
I thought I would throw in my two cents about the McKinney, Tx concert of
June 11th. Well, my wife and I got to the church about 30 min. before it
started, and the house was packed. Then, about 10 min. before the concert
started, Rich walked out with a big smile on his face and said, "I just
wrote a new song that I hope to put on my next album (which he said would
be '10 songs about Jesus'), and I'm dying to try it out on you." With
that, he just started right into it. From what I remember, it was called
something like "You did not have a home". I can't remember everything, of
course, but I do remember the end of the last verse, because he sang it
twice at the end of the song. It went something like this,
"Well the birds have nests, and the foxes have dens,
but the hope of the whole world
rested on the shoulders of a homeless man.
You have the shoulders of a homeless man;
You did not have a home."
That was very cool. After that, he left and a few minutes later Mitch came
out and did about 4 songs (including the Lemonade song). I was glad to
finally hear for myself all the great things I'd read from the other
concert reviews. Then Rich came out, and did several songs. The whole
band was really great. They did a long intro to Awesome God which was
really cool, and then there were the intro's which we've already heard such
as Creed, Sing your Praise to the Lord, Calling out Your Name, and others
that sounded so good.
Then there was a small intermission, after which This Train came back out
and did about 3 or 4 songs. Then Rich came back and did several more
songs. He told the Irish sweater story, and I have to say that when I read
it on a few of the other concert reviews, it really touched me, but to hear
Rich tell it, in his wonderful way, it was even more moving. Well, after
that he started us off on the Doxology, and then quietly left as the crowd
finished it off. The whole thing lasted about 3 1/2 hours, and was worth
every minute of it.
Guess I should wrap it up here so I don't take up any more of your time.
Thanks again for all that you do.
God Bless,
Kevin Daniel

*** Joelle Lemon's McKinney review ***

Just wanted to add a couple of things about the McKinney concert. Looks
like Keven beat me to the review - that's OK, I've had my hands full
with my newborn daughter, Joley (this was the second Rich Mullins
concert she's attended - we went to the one in Denton).
One of the best things about the church being packed like it was - there
were bunches of kiddos sitting down on the floor right in front of the
stage. I was up in the balcony so I could see them having the time of
their lives. It made it kind of a homey, family affair.
Rich was barefoot, must've felt good on the cushy carpet that church
has. Haven't seen him barefoot in a few years.
Rich and Mitch sang a wonderful song about a baby named that doctors
said wasn't going to live - but did. It's not on any of his albums. I
don't remember much of the lyrics, but it had me bawling. I hope he
records it on his next album. Anyone have more info on it? Lyrics?
Joley slept peacefully through most of the concert (she was 9 days old)
- I think she likes Rich and Mitch, but she didn't like This Train. We
skipped that part of the show.
