Date: Tue, 04 Mar 1997 09:48:22 From: Wayne Millard Subject: Verse Danl, When I went to see Rich in concert at Grace Brethern, before he sang Let Mercy Lead, he was doing one of he 'comedy routines', and was telling how he used to think anyone who had kids was blessed, and he wanted one... Then everyone around him started having them, and when they put him in charge of the nursery, he understood this verse in the Bible(then he gave a Scripture Reference from the Old Testament), and quoted it as saying something about bashing the babes and sucklings heads against the rock, or something on that order... Do you have any idea where that verse is???? I've done searches on every thing I can think of, in my computer bible, and can't seem to locate it... Thanks a lot... Wayne Millard
I received a ton of mail reminding me of this list being printed in the ReleaseExtra back in 1994. There was lots of info about Rich. I'd have to say though, that if you're like me, my favorites of anything changes daily (songs, Bible verses, restaurants, whatever...)., so I can imagine Rich's current favs are probably different. I'd guess there's at least one or more Brennan Manning books on his list now. Of all the books on this list, I've heard him refer to Chesterton's Orthodoxy the most.
Thanks to all who responded. Here you go Patty...

I thought it was one of the best concerts I've been to. No smoke, no laser lights, no flashy outfits, just Rich, Mitch and some sweet music. I really felt God's name was glorified. I was really pumped up afterwards. In response to the standing ovation Rich got, I believe the reason for standing was to sing "Awesome God" and we just happened to still be standing when the song was over (because we sang the rest of the song with Rich) and we applauded after every song. So the fact that we were standing wasn't so much for Rich as it was to praise God. I think Rich is great and he seems very focused and he inspires me but the whole point of his ministry is to praise Jesus. Anyway, I had a really great time and just wanted to share with you all. Because He lives! Phil
