Hi Rich Fans,
It appears that some stores either were not informed of, or maybe just ignored, the postponed release date of Rich's Songs . As discussed in [RichMailList 72], the original release date was to be 6/24, but was postponed to 7/8. However a couple members of the mailing list have informed me that they have picked it up already. I would get to the store right away, and find out if your retailer is also releasing it early. The rest of us will just have to wait another week. If you subscribe to CCM Magazine, you may well have already seen the full page ad on page 17 for Songs.
Kathie Scott was the first to notify me of Songs' early availability, and she graciously consented to type up the liner notes, because I just couldn't stand it - I had to know which songs we're on there, and who played on the new stuff.
One other item of business - Kathie mentioned (as did one other) that they received (or saw) an advertisement stating Rich was performing at WorldFest II on Saturday August 10, 1996 at the New World Music Theatre in Tinley Park, IL (a suburb of Chicago). I checked with the William Morris Agency, and they told me that Rich had turned down that date. It appears that the organizers of WorldFest II were a little premature in including Rich on the bill. If you do go to WorldFest II, be sure and check out This Train, which is Ragamuffin bass player Mark Robertson's band. Also another itinerary informational tidbit - I guess Rich did in fact go to Europe, not to perform, but to shoot a video. That's all I know for now. I'm still anxiously awaiting the interview/feature by RichMailList member, Brendt Waters, which will appear in THE LIGHTHOUSE electronic MAGAZINE.
Thanks a ton Kathie for typing all this up for us!

Among those people are: Bear my dog, Gay Quisenberry, Reed, Don, Terry, Michelle, Ben, everyone at Reunion, who is there and who has been there, all who played on these songs, all who played these songs on the radio, all who bought the albums these songs were on, the Ragamuffins, Jim Jr., Sprinkle and all who prayed, Friends U and CCC in Wichita. Producer thank yous: Thanks to Rich for seventy-four great songs - and to Allie for patiently waiting.
I might just identify one person mentioned in the thank-you's listed below. Sprinkle is my friend Kathy Sanders, who, by the way, just recently left Light 99 FM to go back to counseling. Kathy (I guess we can call her Kathy Sprinkle now, since Sanders was her "air name") is involved in the very first Promise Keepers for women here in Wichita in August. It's called Heritage Keepers, and I will soon have information on this exciting new ministry on my personal WWW page. Also, CCC would be Rich's former home church, Central Christian Church.
In case you're wondering which of the songs we picked to make it on the greatist hits (see [RichMailList 64]: Results: Rich Top 20 Survey), I've done the figuring already. I guess we didn't do very good, as we only picked slightly more than half of the songs. The ones we didn't pick are:
Sing Your Praise to the Lord
Awesome God
We Are Not As Strong As We Think We Are
Boy Like Me/Man Like You
Alrightokuhhuhamen
While The Nations Rage
Verge of A Miracle
I can hardly wait to hear the new recordings! As you get Songs, please send me your reviews, and I'll collect them to post.
