Hi Rich Fans,
As mentioned in The Jesus Record FAQ, there was a mass search last March for a live recording of Rich playing "Nothing But The Blood" from last summer's tour. Rick Elias wanted to find a recording of this particular song to closeout The Jesus Record, and was not having any luck. Then Eric Townsend (with the The Giovanni Audiori Archives Page), who was trying to help Rick search the Internet, contacted me, and I sent out a plea on 3/23 to the RichMailList. Time was running out. However, at the last minute a recording was located and forwarded to Rick in time to be included in the project.
The recording was from a Green Bay, WI concert on August 10, 1997, which was towards the end of Rich's last tour.

I have received the following info regarding the upcoming Rich Mullins Tribute recording.
The following is from Vincent Prendergast...
Date: Mon, 15 Jun 1998 22:56:53 (EDT) From: Vincent Prendergast Subject: Rich Mullins Tribute I personally talked to Derek Webb of Caedmon's Call last month and he told me that Reed Arvin was overseeing the tribute CD. He said that Caedmon's Call asked to do "Creed" but that it was already taken (I assume by Third Day, since they performed it at the Songs release party). he said they might just do a studio recording of "The Rich Song" for it. An AWESOME song in case you haven't heard it, it's a song they wrote for him after he died. I also assume Phil Keaggy will do "Hold Me Jesus". Derek also joked: "I wonder what song MWS will do?" but I think Michael W. Smith should do "If I Stand" since he played piano on the original version. All in all it should be cool.
news & notes - June 17, 1998 "HOMELESS MAN"...is the video tribute to Rich Mullins that releases at the end of the month. In conjunction with The Jesus Record, the two projects will be Myrrh Records tribute to the man who had just signed with the label and was working on his first project for them when he was killed in the tragic auto accident. I've just started to watch the video and, based on my early viewing, it is outstanding. We'll have a video review in the next few days. Reunion Records, the label where Mullins found his musical home through most of his recording career, will follow with a tribute project of its own later in the fall. Patterned similarly to the Sparrow "No Compromise" tribute to Keith Green where other artists did covers of his top songs, the unofficial lineup for the Mullins tribute is an impressive one. According to sources, the project will include Reunion artists Michael W. Smith, Third Day and Carolyn Arends along with Ashley Cleveland, Phil Keaggy, Caedmon's Call, Billy Sprague, Billy Crockett and more. This should be one dynamite collection and an equally strong second tribute project for the "Homeless Man" who is now home praising Christ face to face.
