Subject: [RichMailList 14]: Brother's Keeper Silent Auction

On behalf of KTLI-FM Light 99 and Crucible Productions, I have been authorized to hereby officially announce a silent auction for the purpose of raising money to help defray the cost of building a new broadcast tower enabling Light 99 to attain 100,000 watts. Thereby, reaching a larger ministry area in Wichita and the surrounding counties. Light 99 is one of very few 24-hour Contemporary Christian Music radio stations in the US. They have just celebrated their 3rd year, and a successful fund-raising campaign to build this tower. The effect and ministry of Light 99 in my life prompted me to ask if I might pursue this chance to enhance those fund-raising efforts, *and* provide those outside Wichita with the chance of receiving a special edition of Rich's Brother's Keeper. the following is a clip from my "Evening With Rich Mullins (12 May 95)" review...

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Before accommodating several dozen autograph seekers, Rich and Beaker had performed two new songs from the new album, Brother's Keeper. The largest majority of the autographs were signed on a special limited edition (only 900 CD's pressed), pre-release copy of this second ragamuffin band album that was available for purchase tonight and tomorrow night for $16. If you saw the Releasextra presenting Rich Mullins last summer, on page 7 you saw a photo of Rich in front of his red 1966 Chevy pickup truck. It was parked in front of the train stop (which proudly says "Wichita" across the top) at the Great Plains Transportation Museum in downtown Wichita. Another pose during this shoot is on the special cover of the CD. The inside (which includes lyrics) is like a scrapbook of photos and names that are remembered and thanked; most local to Wichita. At the concert tomorrow night, Gay Quisenberry (Rich's manager) will tell us that these were a special release made especially for Wichitans from her, Reunion Records, and Rich. The official release date for Brother's Keeper is July 20th, and will be the exact same album we now have, but with a different cover.

This silent auction consists of two copies of this CD, and both have been autographed by Rich and Beaker. Be the first on your block to get a copy of Brother's Keeper - an *autographed* copy no-less. The rules are simple. E-mail your bid to me, Danl Blackwood, at . The bids must be greater than or equal to $50. You may bid more than once. The top two bidders will be notified by me by E-mail, and given instructions on how to complete the transaction. I wanted to enhance the deal for the *top* bidder. If you have the highest bid, you will receive in addition to the CD, a special pre-release Brother's Keeper Tour Preview cassette from Reunion Records. It features four songs from Brother's Keeper, two songs by Ashley Cleveland (from her upcoming July release from Reunion), and two songs from Carolyn Arends (from her upcoming June release from Reunion). The CD liner notes include tour dates of the International Bible Society sponsored Brother's Keeper Tour that begins September 14th, 1995. And that's not all Monty! What else do we have for that top bid? I even have another collector's item for you; not a biggie unless your a mondo Rich fan - a ticket from the Farewell To Wichita Concert (13 May 95).

So get your bid in now. Bids start at $50. Top two bids receive the afore mentioned special release edition of Brother's Keeper CD, with the highest bidder also receiving the other described goodies, and all to help further the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The bidding is open first to members of the mailing list, and on May 20th I will post this to the rec.music.christian twice (once each to two different Usenet news servers - news.tyrell.net and America Online). Right now, the deadline is May 28th, but that is subject to change.

So HURRY!!!!
