Hi Rich Fans,
I feel led to respond to Gay's comments...

It has always been my desire to provide a mailing list with integrity, and that does not become like other Christian Lists and Newsgroups (that shall remain nameless). I've tried very hard to verify facts before posting anything, and run all reviews and other opinions through the filter of the Scriptures. I have made more than one attempt to contact Gay Quisenberry (Rich's manager, for those of you not aware) for her input on this list - primarily tour dates. I have been unsuccessful in all. In defense of Gay, I do know that she is extremely protective of Rich and his professional affairs, and I praise her for that. The music industry, yes even the
Christian Music Industry is a tough place, and Rich's desire to remain true to Christ's leading in his life, rather than the world's would be a whole lot more difficult to follow if it were not for Gay's efforts. I only ask of you - my Cyber brothers and sisters - to help me, and notify me immediately if you see anything that is suspect or just not true. Gay and Rich both don't really care for the Internet right now, and with good reason, but hopefully at some point we'll be able to get some help from them.
Thank you and God bless -- Danl
From: Lancelot Bede Date: Wed, 19 Mar 1997 09:15:15 (EST) Subject: Re: [RichMailList 119]: Medley/Release/Cosmosphere I spoke with the some people from Release magazine and they have been bought out by another company. Rich's editorial has been eliminated and he will be replaced by some more "popular" artist. I asked if Rich would be featured periodically and he said that he didn't think he would.
Date: Mon, 31 Mar 1997 16:03:41 (PST) From: Brian William When I called Release, I ended up talking to the assistant editor about the way they dropped Rich's article. And she wouldn't give a direct answer on anything. She wouldn't even say that they dropped Rich, but said that "he wouldn't be appearing for quite a while." Hmmm. But she claimed they were trying to cater to a younger crowd and that they would be featuring "up and coming" CCM'ers, hence Jaci's article in this month's. So I guess if you're catering to a younger crowd, guys that write articles entitled "The Big 4 - Oh" are pretty much putting nails in their own coffin. I'm not very impressed, since it's really too bad that the number of magazines they sell has caused them to drop a great article. Oh, well. I'll be writing them to follow up my complaints to the asst editor. *Brian
Date: Tue, 25 Mar 1997 08:46:41 (EST) From: Deb Rieselman Subject: Rich Mullins review I did on the net Hi, Dan. I'v only been on your mailing list for a short while, but I'm really enjoying it. It's the first time I've put myself on such a list. I saw Rich's concert in Cicinnati a few weeks ago and wrote a review for it for the Christian Music Place, where I'm associate editor of the Close to Home section, which is where we run the reviews. I don't know if you're interested in giving out Web addresses, but if so, my review can be found at: http://place2b.org/cmp/close/mullins.htm Peace, Deb Rieselman
Date: Sat, 29 Mar 1997 22:42:43 From: Todd Holden Subject: Hope To Carry On Hello my friend, there is somthing that the list may find of interest if they don't already know of it. For some time now I have been listening to a rather talented independant group called Caedmon's Call. They had two independant albums in both of which they thanked Rich Mullins for his influence. They have recently signed a contract with Warner Aliance, naturally an album followed, their self titled release hit the streets March 25th. So why am I telling you this? Although their music is quite diffrent from Rich's (nobody is quite like Rich) they do a very good remake of Hope To Carry On. Oh and by the way the album's not bad. Although their independant stuff is better, their new one is worth a listen. Thanks Todd Holden

They say that Rich has influenced them and even pay tribute to him with an *incredible* cover of "Hope to Carry On" on their new self-titled album. Hi Rich Fans
Many of us saw Carolyn Arends live for the first time on the Brother's Keeper tour. There is now an official Carolyn Arends Mailing List moderated by RichMailList member and my friend, Joan Slonecker.
To subscribe to the list, you can do one of the following ...
There is also a Carolyn Arends Mailing List Archive Page provided by another RichMailList member, Brendt Waters, which also has a tour page.
