Hey! Guess what? Rich is doing another special deal here in Wichita. Partially because the Farewell Concert sold out so fast, there is going to be a catered dinner (5/12) the night before the concert. Rich and the Ragamuffins will do some of the music unplugged, and Rich will also read some from his new book (title?). The attendance will be limited to 300, and as part of the 10.00 ticket price (Whoa! Cheapest date I'll have for a while) you get a Tour Sampler tape that has four songs from Brother's Keeper (to be released in July), as well as a couple each from Ashley Cleveland's upcoming album, and Carol Arends' upcoming album. They just announced it a couple days ago, and the tickets went on sale this morning (5/5). I got there early this morning, and got to do a live report (via cellular) for Light 99 FM about everyone waiting in line. I haven't heard yet how fast it sold out, as I had to go out-of-town right after I got my tickets, and just got back tonite. It may not have sold out, yet. Please find included the tour dates for the Brother's Keeper Tour. Looks pretty grueling; not many days off. I also found out that Beaker (Rich's writing partner) is temporarily moving to Ohio in a couple weeks, and then he is going to Atlanta after Christmas to go to seminary.

The tour sampler tape has a really cool song, "Let Mercy Lead", about Beaker's son Aiden (sp?). The other two songs (other than the title track) are "Damascus Road" and "Quoting Deuteronomy To The Devil" (which was a possible title for the album). It's going to be an great album, judging from the samples. It is, again, a different sound for Rich.
